Rishi Kapoor dies in Mumbai

Veteran entertainer Rishi Kapoor has kicked the bucket at 67 following a two-year-long fight with malignancy. The 67-year-old on-screen character was conceded in H N Reliance medical clinic, where he inhaled his last today morning. His sibling Randhir Kapoor affirmed the news. "He is no more. He has died," Randhir told PTI.

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the news on Twitter. “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !"

His demise comes a day after his "D-Day" co-star Irrfan Khan died, likewise of malignant growth. A quarter of a year back, the sickness guaranteed his sister Ritu Nanda. 

"Our dear Rishi Kapoor died calmly at 8:45 am in emergency clinic today following a two-year fight with leukemia. The specialists and clinical staff at the emergency clinic said he kept them engaged to the last. 


"He stayed happy and resolved to live to the fullest directly through two years of treatment across two mainlands. Family, companions, nourishment and movies remained his concentration and everybody who met him during this time was astounded at how he didn't let his sickness show signs of improvement of him," the family said in an announcement.


Rishi Kapoor is made due by spouse Neetu Kapoor, child Ranbir and little girl Ridhima. 


Whiz Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar mourned the demise of the veteran on-screen character. "Crushed ... Find happiness in the hereafter ... my dearest companion (sic)," tweeted Rajinikanth.

The on-screen character came back to India last September in the wake of experiencing treatment for malignancy in the US for nearly 12 months. 

In February, Kapoor was hospitalized twice because of his medical problems. 

He was first admitted to an emergency clinic in Delhi where he was going to a family work. At that point, Kapoor had said that he was experiencing a "disease". 


He was a piece of hit movies, for example, Bobby, Amar Akbar Anthony, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar , Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Chandni, Heena, Karz, Bol Radha Bol, Saagar and others.
